Women in Moyale and Sololo Sub-counties face many challenges in building sustainable livelihoods, including limited resources, climate change, and inadequate agricultural knowledge. To support them, HODI through the IPDHE Project has been introducing agricultural initiatives, such as the provision of Moringa seedlings, a highly nutritious, drought-resistant plant with great potential for improving household nutrition and generating income.
The Latu Self Help Group in Anona received Moringa seedlings but needed further guidance on planting, management, and marketing. Responding to their request, HODI organized a practical capacity-building training last week. The session equipped the women with essential farming techniques and market linkage skills, enabling them to maximize the benefits of their seedlings and create new opportunities for sustainable income.
